For me, the power of the book is how Doughlas Conant and Mette Norgard offer an engaging and inspirational approach to leadership that transcends the standard view of personal interactions. The author's share the crucial insight that listening to people, and understanding on the deepest level, that the people and not the leader are what matters to the organization. To take the leap of faith toward becoming a TouchPoint leader, the individual must move beyond doing all of the talking and becoming an intensive listener.

When people are truly listened to and heard, the leader can then ask the transformational question,"How can I help?". The response provides a richer understanding and recognition of the problem. The leader can then frame the question using both their head and their heart to take all aspects into consideration. At that pint, the leader can then devise a solution that considers the best people and the benefit to the organization. With constant and daily practice, the TouchPoint leadership model can become part of the very fabric of the organization, and a basic plan of leadership for everyone within the firm.
